Madeira at the Portugal Nação Global forum
At the first edition of the forum, at the Centro Cultural de Belém, Invest Madeira and SDM presented the Region as an international investment destination.
On 29 and 30 April 2026 Invest Madeira took part in the first edition of the Portugal Nação Global forum, at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, which brought together decision-makers and business people from dozens of countries. Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira (SDM), which runs the Free Trade Zone, took part alongside.
Madeira presented an offer centred on sustainability, innovation and the energy transition. Contacts were made with markets in Asia, Brazil and Africa, and links with European partners were strengthened.
Emerging technologies, the green economy and digitalisation drew the most interest, and the Region's tax regime was again one of the main arguments for attracting foreign direct investment.
