Barcelona: five companies at Alimentaria+Hostelco 2026 and meetings with Spanish investors
Chábom, IlhoPan, Sweets & Sugar, ECM and Martins & Martins were on Madeira's stand, while the Regional Government met Catalan business leaders.
From 23 to 26 March 2026, five Madeiran companies took part in Alimentaria+Hostelco in Barcelona, one of the largest food, drink and hospitality fairs, with more than 3,300 exhibitors from 70 countries and around 110,000 trade visitors: Chábom, IlhoPan, Sweets & Sugar, ECM – Empresa de Cervejas da Madeira and Martins & Martins.
"Initiatives like this give Madeiran companies visibility, strategic contacts and a wider commercial network beyond our borders", said Filipa Ferreira, executive director of Invest Madeira.
In the days before, Regional Secretary for the Economy José Manuel Rodrigues met Spanish business people and Catalonia's main business confederation at the Portuguese Consulate in Barcelona. Opportunities were identified in hotels, retail, real estate, the creative industries, sport and golf, health, technology and the sea economy.
